Welcome to Porchella 2026!
This year’s two night festival includes performances from all levels of our program: Guitar 1, Guitar 2, and Studio Music. Each level has an entertaining set that showcases the skills and music they have been working on to put their year’s-worth of growth together.
We have had such an amazing year in the program regarding growth in number but also in growth in musical knowledge and performance! Tonight is truly a celebration of our students as they have put so much time, energy, and excitement into the numerous performances this year.
Tonight you will get to see the the first act of our two-night set. Our newer students have done a fantastic job getting their sets ready and you are in for a real treat!
We encourage you to take a minute to meet the people around you. Our community has continue to grow in no small part thanks to patrons like YOU! We love having you here with us and appreciate you taking a minute to make some new friends near you!
We also ask that you enjoy the show like concerts from the golden age of rock. There will be high-quality photos as well as video and audio recordings of the entire performance so we ask that your phones stay stored safely so we can all enjoy the performance in the moment together.
Now sit back, relax, and enjoy this year’s conclusion of Porchella 2026 with your new friends!
We are so excited to have our future Bulldogs join us tonight! Ms. Sposato and her students have made the trek all the way from Cadence Park School to bring The Cure's classic Lovesong to you tonight!
Tonight our Guitar 1 students have a set of great pop tunes in store for you!
The set will include classics from The Beatles, The Pixies, and beabadoobee. Day Tripper features the iconic guitar lines and solos from the record, Where Is My Mind brings in a variety of listening points and layers, and Take A Bite brings in some new meter changes throughout a nice tune.
Students in both groups have grown so much since the beginning of the year! It has been a joy to see students of such varying backgrounds come together and learn so much throughout all of the songs and class settings.
Talk to one of your coaches about private tutoring opportunities that they have! Private tutoring is a fantastic way to fuel your fire for music, enhance your understanding, and learn new music! Let's keep moving the program higher next year and try some new things! Lessons on all instruments (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, and Vocals) are available!
We would like to thank Sumin Kim, a Portola Senior, for her assistance in creating the artwork for this year's concert. Posters and T-Shirts are available for purchase and are a great way to remember this magical night for you and your student. They can be purchased at the ticket table near the music rooms. All proceeds will go towards supporting our thriving Pop Music Program at PHS!
Another fantastic year of music making and growth has happened in our second level course. Throughout the year students have worked on the variety of instruments that make up the contemporary music bands but have also worked on charting, rehearsing, performing, and programming sets. There has been so much collaboartion, growth, and maturity shown as all of these tasks can pose large challenges. The sets the students have selected were discussed in their groups and they take pride in creating their group vibe through their selections. We hope you enjoy our Guitar 2 groups!
We are Kinetic inspired by the concept of motion. We are constantly moving in life and creating music through time that reflects our experiences and hopes to make the world a better place. When we choose to act with humility it helps uplift humanity. Let me introduce you to our awesome band Zane, Ryan, Jona, Jay, Jamie, and Avery"
We are Blurry Vision! In our band, we have both Hadi and Jess playing guitar, Eli on Keys, Juhwan on drums and Iza on vocals. Tonight, we will be playing some songs that our band will forever remember as our Porchella debut. Starting with a classic, we plan to bring energy to the stage through our performance of ‘Buddy Holly’ by Weezer. Following, the song, ‘Only happy when it rains” by Garbage will bring this sense of ever-longing desire for destruction, and peace within the chaos. Finally, Our last song, will be ‘Today’ by the Smashing Pumpkins, which grew our vocalist’s love for the rock genre. This song captures that feeling of a day so amazing, you never want it to end. We hope this is how you feel whether in the audience, or on the stage, about our opening night of Porchella. The vocalist Iza, will be taking the beginning solo of this song in addition to occasional hammer-on’s. Blurry Vision wishes you a lovely night, and an ever growing love for music and supporting youth passionate of it.
What's up, Bulldogs, we are Bleached! We're a band confined by 6 members who have put all of our school years' effort into putting together the best show for you to enjoy. With Grey Orlov and Ramin Sarafraz sweetening up the rhythm and melody on guitar, Taleen Aziz and Sean Chsu rocking on bass and keys, Rosha Khezri bringing up the mood with vocals, and Amanda Berrios making your heads bop with the beat on drums. We all agreed on 3 songs that we were convinced would keep you engaged with our band. Starting off with About a Girl by Nirvana, a song that combines all of our music tastes with an older rock tune that will keep the hype up, before we transition into a more nostalgic feeling with 505 by Arctic Monkeys. Finally, we're going to top it all off with Take Me Away by Lash, a song that will end the night with a good feel. We can't wait to go through this mountain of emotions with the audience at Porchella! Come see us, you will not be disappointed.
We're a hard rock band called Orion and we're psyched to put on a great show for you tonight! We've got Indiah on vocals, Colin on drums, Max on bass, Jonathan shredding on lead guitar, and Kingston and Rylan playing rhythm guitar. We're going to be playing Celebrity Skin by Hole, The Kids Aren't Alright by The Offspring, and Fully Alive by Flyleaf. Expect an awesome and high energy show!
Hi everyone! We’re AfterLife and we are so excited to play our songs for you! In our group we have Diya Sreekumar on vocals, Wenhou He on lead guitar, Dominick Macias on rhythm guitar, Tianyun Yang on rhythm guitar, Jihwan Baek on bass, and Dmitrii Samoilenko on drums! We wanted songs that we liked and we were passionate about! Our setlist is One way or another by Blondie, Duvet by bôa, and Bring Me To Life by Evanescence! Each of these songs showcases us as a group from passionate as we are through One Way or Another, as complex as Duvet or as energetic as Bring Me To Life! Together we bring the energy and the emotion into our performances showing the bittersweet moments of our hardwork.
Hello! We are Danny Boy, one of the Guitar II groups at Portola Highschool. Our Guitarists are Aston Weeranarawat and Danny Olvera-Hernandez! On drums, we have Ryan Yang and on bass, Anshu Bobblie. Our vocalist and secondary guitarist is Noah Nguyen.
Tonight, we’ll be performing Green Day’s top hits Brain Stew, When I Come Around, and American Idiot. When choosing our setlist, we picked songs that are popular, but also songs that relate with our generation and are fun to perform, and ties in with themes of rage, love, and anti-conformity!
Get ready for a thrilling show as you join us for Porchella 2026, thanks!
Events like tonight would not be possible without the support and assistance of our parents and families. We would like to thank Lee Chhen Stewart and the full PHS Music Booster Team for making events like tonight possible!
If you are interested in joining our team we have positions open! Email our President - Ms. Lee Chhen Stewart - at musicboosterportolahs@gmail.com
The materials we have to support our students come in no small part from our families generosity. Every cable, amp, stage piece, speaker, and instrument the students have access to is thanks to your support. In order to keep our program reaching out to more students and to keep providing our students with the best possible music making experience we have an Amazon Wish List that we would gladly accept gifts from. The list can be found HERE.
It is so amazing to hear about all of the adventures our students go on after their time at PHS. Now that we have had 6 graduating classes the request to come back has been heard and we are featuring our very own PHS Alumni Band to entertain after meeting only a handful of times. The group is comprised of Tien Tran ('22), Sky Jaan ('23), Inika Joshi and Natalie Wu ('24), and Sharim Khan and Sam Seyedzadeh ('25).
Patagonia is the newest, sleekest, most on FLEEK studio band of the new millennium. No other band compares because Patagonia is the BEST. the name Patagonia? It means devotion, unity, and everything in between. This band.. Isn't JUST a band- They’re a family. A group of cool awesome people, and also Arthur Gutierrez, just a few guys with a CRAZY idea, but not overpriced mediocre handheld burgers, no, they thought to get together and create something magical, mystical, PERFECT. They created Patagonia. BLASTING faces off with the sounds of heavy distortion, as well as the 8 string guitar that Sawyer was crying like a baby to get a song with, and melting brains with Arthur’s crazy new bass rhythms- so crazy, in fact, that some might even call it BAD (but what do they know).
Tonight they will be previewing tomorrow night's show with two songs including their original song "Fake the Faintness"
Thank you once again for joining us here! It has been an amazing year as the students continue to push our performances and quality higher!
None of this would be possible without the help and support from some amazing people. We would like to thank Luke Thomas and Nathan Nguyen for all of their time and dedication in the classroom. We would also like to thank Lee Chhen Stewart and the PHS Music Boosters for all the work they do behind the scenes to support our musicians.
We would also like to thank Erin Zoumaras, Vidalia Resendez, and the entire team at the district office for providing the equipment and performances opportunities that have made this year such a memorable one!
Huge shout out to the VAPA staff: Mr. Desmond Stevens, Matt Distante, Ms. Samantha Gardner, Ms. Samantha Stanford, Mr. Adrien Rangel-Sanchez, Ms. Kearci Thompson, Mr. Mat Pace, and Mr. Donovan Miller.
Our campus and facilities would not be nearly as clean and taken care of without the great work by Mr. Leo Diego and the entire PHS grounds and facilities crew.
Also a huge thank you to Mr. Pehrson, Ms. Paulsen, Mr. Chai, Ms. Ochsner, and Mr. Emery for their support of the arts.

The artwork this year was created by Sumin Kim, a student of Ms. Thompson, and she did a fantastic job bringing the song Higher to life through the art! Thank you so much and bravo!
To the students: thank you so much for a wonderful year! Your passion and dedication are truly inspiring and have assisted in pushing our program further!
To the audience: thank you for keeping music alive! Without you none of this would be possible and music would not be thriving as much as it is at Portola! We look forward to spending more time together at concerts in the future!
