Welcome to Porchella 2025! We are so happy to have you with us as our students take you on a musical journey through different eras and styles and showcase the skills they have been working on throughout the year. This year has been a huge step forward for our program, and the students are ready to demonstrate how far they have pushed it!
Throughout the past few years we have enjoyed seeing our community grow at these concerts! We hope that you get to meet some of the other concert goers we have with us here tonight! Say hi to your neighbors, and if the spirit moves you please feel free to get up and move to the music!
We hope that you will also stop by and grab something to eat. A portion of the proceeds from the vendors will go towards supporting our amazing students and program.
T-shirts, glow items, posters, and group photos are all available for purchase tonight. Stop by the merch booth to see what we have for you!
To sum it up - THANK YOU! Thank you for the support throughout the year, thank you for spending your time with us tonight, and thank you for allowing us another opportunity to share the passion of the students with you!
Without the guidance of our older members our program would not be where it is today. It means so much to us to see how the students have grown into the rockstars of tomorrow throughout their time with us and we believe that they have so much amazing music to continue sharing with the world! Thank you for all of your time, dedication, and passion! Keep playing, keep sharing your art, and stay in touch! Congratulations Class of 2025!

Students in this band have worked together to learn how to disect songs, learn the chords, rehearse together, and bring these songs to life! The songs take us back in time as they open our evening with songs that will get you up and dancing. Cheer on our first-year members as they show us how to twist AND shout!

Hi, we’re A.W.N.R.S.Y! We’ve got Kang on drums, Dylan on lead guitar, Renee on rhythm guitar, Noa on bass, and Siri and Maddy as vocalists! We’re going to be playing the songs “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” by John Mayer, “Love on The Brain” by Rihanna, and “Say So” by Doja Cat. As you listen to our set, you will notice the common atmospheric vibe of our songs. This was our way to fulfill the dreamy theme that we want to bring to life for this year’s Porchella. Our band name, A.W.N.R.S.Y., stands for Actually We’re Not Really Sure Yet, and for those who don’t know this is a Dork Diaries reference! Do you like Dork Diaries?
We are Post-Calculus, a band of unlikely collaborators put together to make music beyond calculations. Harsh Dighekar and Apollo Jaan will be shredding on guitar, Juno Heneks and Yeeun Ryu will be holding it down with bass and vocals, and Elsa Tian will keep the beat alive on drums. Through many discussions among band members, we put together the three songs that express our different tastes, finalizing our set list with a wide range of genres from alternative/ indie rock in Robbers by The 1975 to heavy hardcore in Helena by My Chemical Romance and Pierce the Veil’s Circles. Each of these songs captures a different layer of dreaming, whether it's the chaotic longing in Robbers, the haunting farewell in Helena, or the emotional spiral of Circles. Together, the songs reflect how dreams can be beautiful, confusing, or bittersweet, and we can't wait to share that with the audiences.
Hey bulldogs!! We are Timeout and we are so excited to play for everyone. In our group we have Sarah Aljazzar on vocals, Django Marshall on drums, Luke Passey on bass, Ethan Kim on lead guitar, Mary Su on keyboard! For our songs we wanted to do songs that are energetic and youthful, but also angsty and chaotic! We are performing “Brutal” by Olivia Rodrigo, “Black Sheep” by Metric, and “No One Knows” Queens of the Stone age. Our group has been working hard to find ways to make these songs more creative and streets ahead! We can't wait to show everyone what we have in store and we hope everyone is ready to sing and dance along!
Hi everyone! We’re Cupid’s Bow and we’re here to tell you a story of love and struggle on the mean streets of Irvine. We have Lisa on Vocals, Josh and Hea on Guitar, Shravan on Drums, and Yash on Bass. Our setlist is Rude by MAGIC!, Go With the Flow by Queens of the Stone Age, and Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon. These songs are more than just songs that we want to play, but also the curated soundtrack to the story of two people who dream of each other. So, sit back, relax, and let us take you on this magical journey.
Events like tonight would not be possible without the support and assistance of our parents and families. We would like to thank Lee Chhen Stewart and the full PHS Music Booster Team for making events like tonight possible!
If you are interested in joining our team we have positions open! Email our President - Ms. Lee Chhen Stewart - at musicboosterportolahs@gmail.com
Talk to one of your coaches about private tutoring opportunities that they have! Private tutoring is a fantastic way to fuel your fire for music, enhance your understanding, and learn new music! Let's keep moving the program higher next year and try some new things! Lessons on all instruments (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, and Vocals) are available!
Meet Waking Hour — with Zoe on vocals, Myreen on bass, Ethan and Sneha on guitars, and Leon on drums. We’re performing “No One Noticed” by The Marías, “One More Night” by Maroon 5, and “High and Dry” by Radiohead. We chose these songs because they each explore emotional distance in different ways — whether it’s feeling unseen, stuck in a toxic cycle, or quietly falling apart. That theme of subtle unraveling really resonated with us. Our set moves from dreamy and introspective to more rhythmic and raw, and we’ve had fun putting our own creative spin on each piece. We want the audience to feel like they’ve just stepped into a late-night drive with the windows down — emotional, a little hazy, but totally unforgettable.
Hi, this is Nuvra, our band member consist of vocalist- Ofelia Ning, Dummer- Josh Xu, Lead guitar- Sawyer Hamkins, Rhythem guitar- Jonathan Su, Bassist- Shayleb Potdar, and Pianist- Angelina Wang. As our set begins, "Rosemary"- deftone portrays loss and grief, bringing back memories of someone you’ve lost and can no longer reach. As it continues, "Sweetness"- Jimmy eat world represents the desperation to be understood and loved again—a moment when we’re lost in our imagination and longing. But then, "Ain’t It Fun" - Paramore snaps us back into harsh reality. These three songs explore a dream of reflection, emotional confrontation, and eventual self-realization.
We are the Daybreakers! We have Evan on drums, Mark on bass, Suah and Issy on vocals, and Ayushi and Jibreel on guitar! We’ll be performing Hard Times by Paramore, Somewhere Only We Know by Keane, and Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses. When choosing our setlist, we aimed to pick songs that are well-known, fun to listen to and perform, and that tie in with the concert’s theme of dreams. After going through hardship, sometimes all you want to do is escape to that special place in your dreams that only you know. And it’s always nice to look back and dream about the times you’re nostalgic for. We hope you can relive those moments as you join us at Porchella!
We are Ultraviolet. Our parents left us 13 years ago and left us shattered, broken, and alone. Elliot plays the guitar, Sebastian plays the bass, Kevin sings with his vocals and on the keys, Michael drums and sings, and Claire busts out the rhythms. When we were presented with the theme for dreams, we thought of what we most aspired for in the world: our dreams. The soft, floaty chords of Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd resonated with the dreamlike, drifting state we always seem to find ourselves in. Black by Pearl Jam showcased how much we long for and yearn for what we miss in our lives within the lyrics. But above all else, we just want to give you a good show. That's the only thing that brings solace to the purgatory existence we find ourselves in.
The materials we have to support our students come in no small part from our families generosity. Every cable, amp, stage piece, speaker, and instrument the students have access to is thanks to your support. In order to keep our program reaching out to more students and to keep providing our students with the best possible music making experience we have an Amazon Wish List that we would gladly accept gifts from. The list can be found HERE.

For the first night of this festival, we will be performing Street Spirit (Fade Out) by Radiohead, I Hate Everything About You by Three Days Grace, Arcturus Beaming by the Crane Wives, and Grace by Jeff Buckley. On the second night, the set will get louder and features performances of Bulls in the Bronx by Pierce the Veil, Butterflies & Hurricanes by Muse, Favorite Things by Incubus, Holy, Holy by Geordie Greep, as well as an original song.
This will be the final concert for most of our members, and it is truly a special show for those of us who are graduating. Thank you for your support, and in the meantime, we hope you relax and enjoy the sounds of Porchella.
As is our tradition we will conclude our two-day music festival with a combination of all of our Popular Music Track students. "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics. It is so great to see how our students that participated in our first MegaBand in 2022 have grown and laid a strong foundation for the next group to build on. This is our take on Sweet Dreams and has our own unique sound and gave the source for the rest of the sets this evening to the groups. Our featured soloists will be Connor Chan, Sharim Khan, Jibreel Haidar, Ethan Williams, Apollo Jaan, Sammy Marcus, and Sean Homma. Enjoy Sweet Dreams!
Music continues to be alive and well in Irvine, and that is in no small part thanks to patrons like YOU! Without an audience our music wouldn't have the same meaning and our program would not be as healthy and vibrant as it is. We truly enjoy seeing such a variety of students and musicians in our program and are grateful for the opportunity to provide them a space to share their art and passion with the public. Thank you for coming!
We would also like to thank Mr. John Pehrson, Jen Ochsner, Amy Paulsen, Brandon Emery, and Steven Chai for their support throughout the year, Mr. Leo Diego and the facilities staff for keeping our spaces clean and facilitating the evening, Ms. Samantha Sanford and the tech students for their work and facility usage, Mr. Adrian Rangel-Sanchez for the undying support, Mr. Kearci Thompson and Grace Fang for assisting in the art for tonight, Mr. Andy Marshall for running our sound, and our coaches Nathan Nguyen and Luke Thomas for all of their support throughout the year.
